1034 cases settled in Lok Adalats

JAMMU, Oct 12: As many as 1034 cases of different nature were settled amicably in two separate Lok Adalats in Bishnah and Udhampur districts.
An official spokesperson here today said that a National Lok Adalat on traffic, petty matters and Municipal matters was held in the district in which 1002 cases were disposed of by benches of Susheel Singh, Munsiff JMIC Udhampur and Prem Sagar, DMM (T) Udhampur; Renu Dogra, Sub-Judge Ramnagar and Harjeet (Advocate); Sumati Sharma, Munsiff JMIC Chanani and SK Khan (Advocate); and Touseef Ahmed Magray, Munsiff JMIC Majalta.
The Lok Adalat was held under the patronage of Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar, Chief Justice, High Court of J&K and Patron-in-Chief J&K State Legal Services Authority and under the guidance of Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir, Judge J&K High Court and Executive Chairman, J&K State Legal Services Authority.
Meanwhile a Lok Adalat was held at JMIC Court Bishnah under the chairmanship of Munsiff JMIC Bishnah, Archana Charak, Judicial Magistrate 1st Class Bishnah, in which 32 cases were disposed off and fine of Rs 3370 was realized. Out of 32 cases that were disposed, 27 were vrelated to traffic violations. Three criminal cases were also compounded. Prosecuting officer, PP Singh and advocates of Bishnah Bar were also present on the occasion.
