JAMMU: As on 31st March 2016, as per the Information Technology Department’s report submitted to Governor N. N. Vohra, 89,26,109 people have been enrolled out of the 1,09,43,114 total population whose records have already been digitized and Aadhaar cards have been issued to 76,06,021 persons. Governor was informed that 10,21,383 lakh Aadhaar have been generated since January this year and another 5.79 lakh persons have been enrolled. 2,25,106 Aadhaar cards were generated in January 2016, 4,08,045 in February 2016 and 3,88,232 in March 2016.
The district wise population enrolled till date is: Leh 83,029 (62 %), Kargil 94,600(67%), Srinagar 656,303 (53%), Ganderbal 208,393 (70%), Baramulla 731,321(73%), Kupwara 526,850 (61%), Bandipore 267,519 (68%), Kulgam 357,465(84%), Budgam 588,250 (78%), Poonch 318,551 (67%), Rajouri 419,285 (65%), Pulwama 408,262 (73%), Shopian 225,310 (85%), Anantnag 692,829 (64%), Reasi 240,384 (76%), Kishtwar 184,862 (80%), Ramban 228,811 (81%), Doda 325,913 (80%), Udhampur 458,935 (83%), Kathua 466,582 (76%), Jammu 11,64,187 (76%) and Samba 278,468 (87%).
The district wise number of Aadhaar cards issued are: Leh 82,267, Kargil 92,832, Srinagar 4,46,646, Ganderbal 1,80,893 , Baramulla 598,513 , Kupwara 4,83,806, Bandipore 2,38,022, Kulgam 3,46,295 , Budgam 4,48,724, Poonch 2,56,540, Rajouri 325,809, Pulwama 344,686, Shopian 182,453 Anantnag 623,431 Reasi 2,25,779, Kishtwar 1,38,824, Ramban 2,03,617 Doda 2,70,435, Udhampur 354,127 Kathua 4,26,943, Jammu 10,89,184 and Samba 2,46,195.
The Governor has directed the State Census Department to hold camps in the field and outside large offices to significantly speed up the registration process and enable people to enroll closer to their homes and places of work.
