10 die in Valley, J&K toll 578

Spike in COVID-19 cases; 606 test +ve

Srinagar, Aug 19: Kashmir today reported spike in the Coronavirus cases as 606 people tested positive for the COVID-19 here taking the Jammu and Kashmir tally past 30,000 while 10 COVID patients died today in the Valley taking the J&K toll to 578.
Ten patients who died today due to Coronavirus include a 72-year-old man from Sebdan Budgam, a 60-year-old woman from Peerzoo Srinagar, a 57-year-old man from Buchpora Srinagar, a 43-year-old man from Hawal Srinagar, a 65-year-old man from Tangmarg Baramulla, a 75-year-old woman from Sajad Abad Chattabal Srinagar, a 70-year-old man from Shalteng Srinagar, a 55-year-old woman from Rainawari Srinagar, an 80-year-old man from Tanghdar in Kupwara and a 70-year old woman from Wachi Shopian.
A 72-year-old man from Sebdan in district Budgam who was admitted on 17 August to Chest Diseases hospital in Srinagar and a 60-year old woman from Peerzoo Srinagar who was admitted on 2nd August to the same hospital died today.
A 57-year old man from Buchpora in Srinagar who was admitted on 19th August to SKIMS Soura, a 43-year old man from Hawal who was admitted on 18th August and a 65-year old man from Tangmarg who was admitted on August 1 to the same hospital died today. The man from Tangmarg had recovered and tested negative for COVID-19 recently.
A 75 year old woman from Chattabal area of Srinagar who was admitted on 11th August to SMHS hospital, a 70 year old man from Shallteng area of Srinagar who was admitted on 16th August, a 55-year old man from Rainawari who was admitted on 18th August and a 80-year old man from Tanghdar admitted on August 16 to the same hospital died today.
A 70-year old woman from Wachi Shopian who was undergoing treatment at GMC Anantnag for last few days died today.
With 10 more deaths, the death toll in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 578, including 537 from Kashmir division and 41 from Jammu division
And Kashmir today reported spike in the Coronavirus cases as 606 people tested positive for the COVID-19 here taking the Jammu and Kashmir tally past 30, 034.
Srinagar reported maximum cases of 229, Baramulla 35, Pulwama 24, Budgam 88, Anantnag 48, Kulgam 19, Shopian 10, Kupwara 43, Bandipora 48 and Ganderbal 62.
In Kashmir, Srinagar topped the list of positive cases with 7253 followed by Baramulla with 2510, Pulwama 2146, Budgam 1922, Kulgam 1747, Shopian 1589, Anantnag 1905, Kupwara 1680, Bandipora 1583 and Ganderbal 1051.
Moreover, 436 more COVID-19 patients recovered and were discharged from various hospitals of Kashmir today.
