JAMMU, Mar 29: Ten budding entrepreneurs from Jammu and Kashmir participated in International Reverse buyers sellers meet (Indian Woolens Expo 2021) held in New Delhi.
Son of soil and Vice Chairman, Wool & Woolens Export Promotion Council (WWEPC), Government of India, Romesh Khajuria informed that Jammu and Kashmir Department of Commerce & Industries has sponsored his initiative to support entrepreneurs/exporters from Jammu and Kashmir.
Khajuria said that India Woolen Expo 2021 was organized in New Delhi during March 25-27 in which sellers and buyers from all over the country and abroad participated.
He added that Reverse Buyers Sellers meet was part of the annual action plan approved under the Market Access Initiative (MAI) Scheme, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, which will facilitate Indian woolen entrepreneurs to excel in global exports.
Complimenting Ranjan Parkash, Thakur, Principal Secretary to Jammu and Kashmir Government Departments of Commerce & Industries for taking keen interest in welfare of artisans, Khajuria said that it is an apt platform for our manufacturers and exporters to interact with international buyers, buying houses, sourcing agents and domestic volume buyers and to source from India.
He added that during exclusive 3-days event Indian Entrepreneurs get network for successful business deals with the potential clients.
He added that event helped the Indian Woollen MSME entrepreneurs to understand the actual requirements, quality, fashion trends etc in the global market so that they can compete and excel in the future.
The ultimate objective of the event is to strengthen “Brand India” image of Made in India woolen /Pashmina/ products globally.
Earlier, Upendera Prasad Singh, Secretary Textiles, Government of India inaugurated the event. Sanjiv Dhir, chairman Wool & Woolens Export Promotion Council WWEPC, Government of India. Romesh Khajuria, vice chairman & Anil Vasupillai Executive Director and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
