JAMMU, Dec 17: Nagrota police foiled bovines smuggling bid by rescuing 10 cattle and arrested four persons.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Nagrota Police Station laid a naka and intercepted two Srinagar bound Mahindra vehicles.
During checking, police rescued 10 cattle from the vehicles and arrested four bovine smugglers.
The arrested persons have been identified as Pappu, son of Abdul Gani of Nikki TawI Jammu, Hashim Din, son of Mohammad Mehndi of Nawa Shahar RS Pura, Mushtaq Ahmed, son of Noor Ilahi of Metra District Ramban and Javed Khan, son of Babu Din of Belicharana Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 271/17 under Sections 188 RPC and 3/5 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
