JAMMU, Sept 21: The 28 member BJP team from J&K will attend the three days party’s Working Committee and National Council meet beginning at Kalikat Kerala from September 23.
According to party sources the Working Committee meeting will be held on September 23 which will be followed by two days National Council meeting on September 24 and 25.
The Working Committee as well as National Council meetings will be inaugurated by Party national president Amit Shah on September 23 and 24 respectively while Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also attend the meet and make the concluding address in the National Council meeting on September 25. His address will be telecast country wide, the sources added.
Sources said, besides the organizational matters, the recent terror attack at Uri by Fidayeen as well as Kashmir issue will also figure in both National Council and Working Committee meetings.
The BJP leaders including Party president Sat Sharma, all four general secretaries, senior leaders, 10 party ministers led by Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh from the State, besides Minster in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh who represents the Kathua Doda Lok Sabha Constituency, MPs (LS) Jugal Kishore Sharma and Thuptsan Chewang and MP (RS) Shamsher Singh Manhas will represent the State in the meetings.
Sources said some party leaders including State president and ministers will leave tomorrow for Kalikat while others will leave on Friday from here. The National Council meeting will be followed by State Working Committee meetings in every State within one week.
In J&K the party will have State Executive meeting at Udhampur on September 29 which will be preceded by office bearers meeting on September 28.
The party in a meeting at Udhampur held under the chairmanship of its general secretary (Org) Ashok Kaul reviewed the arrangements for the State Executive meeting. The meeting was also attended by Pawan Khajuria another general secretary and senior office bearers.
Sources said the State Executive meet will be attended by a senior national leader. However his name has not been finalized as yet.
