Srinagar, June 8: One person was killed and six others were injured in different road accidents across the Valley.
A police spokesman said a load carrier JK09/3270 skidded of the road at Reshiwari near a rest house in Handwara.
“Two persons, 17 years old Arif Ahmed Khan son of Mohammad Shafi of Nowgam and Shah Merjann wife of Nazir Ahmed Khan of Nowgam travelling in the load carrier were seriously injured in the mishap. Both the injured were shifted to District Hospital, Handwara where the injured lady succumbed to her injuries,” the spokesman said.
A motorcycle JK18/6537 hit and injured a girl Azmat, daughter of Imtiyaz Ahmed Teeli of Malwan at Darpora Malwan, in the jurisdiction of police station Devsar. The injured was shifted to District hospital, Kulgam for treatment.
A Tipper JK05-2818 hit a motorcyclist JK05C- 8087 , resulting in injuries to the motorcyclist and a pillion. Both the injured were shifted to Kralgund Hospital for treatment.
A Sumo JK04-0417 hit and injured two minor pedestrians Rifat Ara daughter of Bashir Ahmed Katri and Sateer Ahmed Shahan son of Mohammad Ashraf Shahan at Zugoo Kharian in Khansahib, Budgam. Both the injured have been shifted to hospital for treatment.
The spokesman said police has registered cases in these accidents.
