1 killed, 6 injured in Rajouri accidents

RAJOURI, July 17: One person was killed while six were injured in two road accidents in Nowshera and Sunderbani area of district Rajouri today.
A police spokesman said that 20-year-old Sanjay Kumar, son of Ashok Kumar and his brother Pankaj Kumar were seriously injured when tractor No. JK02M/8262 fell into a gorge near Channi Parat village in Sunderbani  today. Both the injured were shifted to Sunderbani hospital where Sanjay Kumar was declared as dead.
His brother, Pankaj Kumar was referred to GMC hospital Jammu. The police took the cognizance of the matter and handed over the body of the deceased after performing legal formalities.
Six persons including two children were injured were a truck met with an accident near Lamberi in Nowshera area this afternoon. The mishap took place when the truck No. JK08/1887 was on way to Jammu from Poonch. When it reached near Pir Baba, due to brake failure, it went out of control and hit against the retaining wall of the shrine.
All the injured were rushed to Sunderbani hospital by local police. The doctors provided them first-aid and then referred them to GMC hospital Jammu. They have been identified as driver Jasmeet Singh, Tanveer Kour, Parvinder Kour, Jasmeet Kour, Darshan Kumar and Ravinder Singh, all hailing from Jammu.
