JAMMU, Sept 29: A three years old child died while three of his family members injured in a head on collision between a scooty and an Alto car, held late last night at Gurha Pattan area of Akhnoor.
According to a police spokesperson, the accident took place late last night when the scooty bearing Registration number PB06-8921 and Alto car having Registration number JK02AX-1158 collided head on near Gurha Pattan.
In the accident, three years old Rajat Verma died on the spot while, his father, police constable, Ravi Kumar son of Bihari Lal and resident of Hamirpur, Tehsil Akhnoor, along with his wife, Anu Devi and daughter, Vanshika (5) injured, he said adding, the driver of the Alto car fled from the spot.
The injured were immediately shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) where their condition is stated to be stable.
A case in this regard has been registered at police station, Kanachak and a manhunt is on to nab the absconding Alto driver.
