RAJOURI, May 25: A youth was killed while another seriously injured when a car rolled down into a gorge near Kalakote in district Rajouri this evening.
Report said the mishap took place when the driver lost control over the Alto car, bearing registration number JK11E/2487 near Mehari in Kalakote area this evening. The car rolled down into nearly 150 feet deep gorge, resulting into on the spot death of one person.
Immediately after the accident, the locals of the area rushed to the spot. Later, police party from Kalakote also reached there. While one person was killed on the spot, another in critical condition was removed to Govt Medical College, Hospital, Rajouri.
The deceased was later identified as Arjun Sharma (26), son of Lt Krishan Lal, resident of village Chakli in Kalakote. Seriously injured Sanjay Kumar (28), son of Chaman Lal, resident of village Salyar in Kalakote, was undergoing treatment in Rajouri hospital. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
