JAMMU: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali today informed that 1.9 lakh Below Poverty Line (BPL) families in the State have so far received LPG connections under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) scheme.
While addressing a meeting convened to review the implementation of the scheme in the State, he said that oil companies were given a target to provide the gas connections to 2.25 lakh households in the State till December 31, 2016.
So far, 3.06 lakh KYC forms have been filled by the consumers, out of which 2.45 lakh cases have been cleared and it was further revealed that out of them, 1.9 lakh families have been provided with LPG connections, said the Minister. (AGENCIES)
