Tanmay slams ton as Hyderabad reach 234/3 on Day-1 against J&K

VADODARA, Nov 29:

Tanmay Agarwal slammed an unbeaten (106*) century as Hyderabad reached 234 for the loss of 3 wickets on Day-1 of Group C Ranji Trophy match against Jammu and Kashmir at Vadodara today.
Earlier, put into bat by J&K skipper Parvez Rasool, Hyderabad openers started cautiously, before Samiullah Beigh dismissed Akshath Reddy at his individual score of 18 runs and the team’s total of 36 runs. S Badrinath was the next man in, who scored valuable 47 runs before his dismissal by Parvez Rasool at the innings total of 141 runs. Then Balchandran Anirudh joined Tanmay in the middle and made a partnership of 93 runs to take the score to 234 runs, before Parvez Rasool trapped Anirudh LBW at his individual score of 47 runs and the team’s total of 234 runs.  For J&K, Parvez Rasool took 2 important wickets, while Samiullah Beigh claime one wicket.

In another match at Mumbai, a five-wicket haul by slow-left arm orthodox bowler Sumit Ruikar helped Chhattisgarh bundle out Services for a partly 225 on the opening day of their Ranji Trophy Group C encounter here.
Electing to bat at the MCA’s Bandra-Kurla Complex ground, Services, who lost to Hyderabad, had a terrible start with skipper and opener Aanshul Gupta getting out on 15 after being trapped leg before by Abhuday Kant Singh.
Ravi Chauhan (21) and Amit Pachhara (28) though got the start, they failed to convert their scores into big ones.
Notable contributions came only from stumper Nakul Verma (54 off 167 balls) and Vikas Hathwala (50 off 72 balls) — both of whom scored contrasting half-centuries.
Services kept losing wickets at regular interval and their last four wickets fell for just 29 runs.
For Chhattisgarh, Ruikar was the pick of the bowlers with figures of five for 73 from 33.1 overs. Skipper Abhimanyu Chauhan bagged two wickets, while Pankaj Rao, Abhuday Kant Singh and Shivendra Singh took wicket apiece.
At stumps, Chhattisgarh were eight for no loss.
