JAMMU, Nov 2: J&K State Badminton Championship being organized under Khelo India Scheme entered second day, whereas girls of Ghagwal and Rajpura blocks of district Samba compete in various games including Athletics, Badminton, Football, etc.
JAMMU: Shuttlers continued to exhibit their talent on the second day of the J&K State Badminton Championship, being organized by J&K Badminton Association in collaboration with J&K State Sports Council at Badminton Hall, MA Stadium, here.
In Under-14 Girls Doubles (quarterfinal), Unnati and Pranjal beat Akriti and Reshika, Suhani and Shrijus beat Ritika and Shreya, Skiedeep and Arsh beat Haya and Ishreen and Krisha and Shambhavi beat Pridhi and Anshima.
In Under-14 boys doubles (quarterfinal), Vidhan and Danish beat Shivansh and Kevin, Vaibhav and Udhyan beat Diyansh and Swayam, Sant and Sanyam beat Dhruva and Abhay and Bhavdeep, Sarathak lost to Ayush and Rhytham, Abhujit and Kulband beat Salman and Hazik, Jaskaran and Shivom lost to Yashasvi and Vansh and Vansh and Ojas beat Saranya and Shariyveer.
In Under-14 girls singles, Snowy beat Khansa, Akriti Thakur lost to Paridhi Mahajan, Shambhvi Rajput beat Shreya Gupta, Ritika Raina lost to Pranjal Sharma, Krishika Mahajan beat Kashvi Chopra, Shrijus Sharma beat Suhani Sharma, Skeideep Kour beat Haya Anees and Arsh Neer lost to Unnati.
In Under-14 boys singles, Bhavdeep Singh lost to Danish Baloria, Vaibhav Mehta beat Aditya Singh, Kulbandu lost to Sarthak, Abhijit Jasrotia beat Vansh Falswal, Udhyan Sharma lost to Aiyush Thakur, Aman Mir lost to Sanyam and Shourya Pratham lost to Ibrahim Qureshi.
The matches were conducted under the supervision of Satpal Sharma and Vikram Jamwal SAI Badminton Coaches.
Fayaz Ahmad, Amir Aslam Mir, Sukhdev Singh, Vivek Mehta, Balbir Singh Jamwal General Secretary, J&K Badminton Association and huge number of parents and badminton lovers were present on the occasion.
SAMBA: On day-3, the girls of block Ghagwal and Rajpura compete in Athletics, Badminton, Football and other games organized under Khelo India Scheme at Government Girls High School Ghagwal of Samba District.
On the occasion, the chief guest was Programme Officer Samba ICDS, Jyoti Rani Slathia.
In Volleyball event U-20, Government Higher Secondary School Ghagwal won its tie. In Kabbadi U-17, GHSS Ghagwal and in U-20 GHSS Rajpura won their respective matches. In Kho-Kho U-17, GHS Naran team won the tie.
In Badminton event U-17, Rudraksha emerged winner and Kajal remained runner-up, in U-20, Shilpa Lalotra defeated Sujita Devi in final and in above 20, Monika Chowdhary and Ritu Sharma emerged winner and runner-up respectively.
In Football, GHSS Rajpura team won its tie.
In Athletic (Long Jump U-17), Kamini Devi, Rudrakshi and Madhavi Bhagat and in U-20 Sonika Devi, Yuvika Sharma and Nikita Sharma stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively. In Shot-put U-17, Isha Sharma, Madhavi Bhagat and Mangala Upadhaya and in U-20, Bhawani Devi, Palvi Sharma and Yuvika Sharma emerged 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively. In above 20, Suman Bala and Sandeep Kour bagged 1st and 2nd positions respectively.
In Discuss Throw U-17, Tamana Sharma, Janvi and Kajal stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, while in U-20 Sonika Devi won her tie.
In track event 100 m race (U-17), Rajani Sharma, Pulala Sharma and Nikita Sharma emerged 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, while in above 20, Monika Chowdhary won her event. In 200 m race, Kamini Devi, Shubra and Sonali bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively, while in U-20 Preeti Sharma won her tie.
