JAMMU, Jan 10: Magnificent knocks by promising young cricketers Sachin Sharma and Akshit helped Vishal Club Juniors to register third consecutive win over Jammu Rising Stars (JRS) in the 7- matches T20 Cricket Series for Under-16 boys, being organized by Vishal Cricket Club Jammu at Parade Ground, here.
Ramesh Kotwal, SP Headquarters Jammu and Prashant Mahajan, CPO DPO Jammu were the special guests in today’s match, who were introduced with the participating teams on the occasion.
Today in the third match of the series Vishal Club Junior defeated Jammu Rising Stars by 5 wickets.
Earlier, batting first, Jammu Rising Stars scored a modest total of 132 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 18 overs. Sourav top scored with 43 runs, while Umar Sadiq contributed 25 runs and Kannav chipped in with 12 runs. From Vishal Juniors, Adhishwer Kotwal, Dhruv and Shavac took 2 wickets each. In reply, Vishal Club Juniors chased the target in 16.5 overs by losing 5 wickets, thus won the match by 5 wickets. Sachin played a brilliant innings of 44 runs, while Akshit contributed valuable 37 runs to the total. Himal also chipped in with 17 runs. Dhaman was the wrecker-in-chief, who took 5 wickets for his team.
