J&K students interact with counterparts in foreign schools

JAMMU, Mar 10: Under the mission Jammu Kashmir Knowledge Network (JKKN), the students of various schools in Jammu and Kashmir interacted with their counterparts from prominent foreign and Indian schools.
The students of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kangan and HSS Salia Anantnag, Kashmir, interacted with the students of Podar World School-Sherkhi-Gujarat, International Independent School Jordan, Sacred Heart School Philippines and St Monicas College Melborne, Australia.
During the interaction, the students discussed various issues related to their personal life, community and humanity.  They shared personal examples and solution to the different problems faced by the people of their communities.
The students also talked about the rights of girls and women, humanity, poverty, education, Human Rights, faith value and beliefs.
A students of GGHSS Kangan said that such programmes are much useful for the students be it critical thinking, communication skills, behaviour or general knowledge etc.
Pertinent to mention that JKKN, under the umbrella of Jammu Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) is the mission to empower the students of more than 200 identified schools through quality education by using digital means. JKKN works by using the ICT and CAL smart classes, which have been created under centrally sponsored schemes RMSA and SSA. These smart classes are equipped with the latest digital gadgets like interactive boards, projectors, visualizer, desktop, laptop, high quality mics and speakers etc. JKKN is aimed to bridging the gap between the urban and rural schools by organizing various kinds of programmes.
‘This innovative mission is presently supervised and monitored by Prof Veena Pandita,   Chairperson BOSE, Dr Farooq Ahmad Peer. Director (Academics) and operated by a team or dedicated DNOs.
