J&K PDC blanks DFA Anantnag, Shaheen FC scripts solitary goal win

JAMMU, Jan 16: J&K Power Development Corporation (PDC) thrashed District Football Association (DFA) Anantnag by four goals to nil (4-0), while Shaheen Football Club Anantnag registered a solitary goal win over Arco Football Club Baramulla in the ongoing 12th Christmas Gold Cup Football Tournament, being organised by All J&K Christian Welfare Association, under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) at GGM Science College Football ground, here.
In the first match, J&K PDC XI defeated DFA Anantnag by (4-0). Aqib scored the first goal in 37th minute of the match, while Tahfeen, Dinaddin and Yasir netted the other three goals in 41st, 46th and 49th minutes respectively.
In another match, Shaheen FC beat Arco FC by (1-0). For Shaheen Football Club, Vivek Singh netted the goal in 37th minute of the match.
The matches were officiated by Suresh Gupta, Ricky Kumar, Koushal Sharma, Rocky Sharma, Vijay Kumar, Dheeraj Meenia, Ajay Singh and Mohinder Kalsi (Physio).
In tomorrow’s fixture, J&K Bank Academy will take on J&K Police in quarterfinals at 3 pm.
Prominent among others today’s matches were witnessed by SM Gill, Ex MLC and President All J&K Christian Welfare Association; ZA Thakur, President JKFA and Surinder Singh Bunty, Treasurer JKFA.
