J&K bags silver in Sr, bronze in Sub Jr National Korfball C’ship

JAMMU, Apr 3: Jammu and Kashmir won silver medal in Senior and bronze in Sub Junior National Korfball Championship held at Rohtak in Haryana from March 30 to April 2, 2019.
Jammu and Kashmir Senior team was in pool D with Kerala, Assam, Chandigarh, Telengana and Bihar.
After winning all pool matches, J&K defeated Kerala in the quarterfinal and entered into semifinal, wherein J&K beat Himachal Pradesh.
In the final match, J&K lost to Haryana by 7-11 and got runners-up trophy.
Meanwhile, J&K Sub Junior team lost to Chhattisgarh in the semifinal and later-on defeated Himachal Pardesh in the hard liner and got third place.
J&K Junior team lost to Himachal Pradesh in the quarterfinals.
Manoj Singh Chouhan, President Korfball Federation of India was the chief guest and Ashik Kumar, Olympian was the guest of honour.
Mr Chouhan distributed trophies and medals among the winners and runners-up teams.
Manjeet Singh was the Chief Coach of J&K team, while Tarandeep Singh was the coach-cum-Manager.
