IMS, JK Montessorie celebrate Baisakhi festival

JAMMU, Apr 10: Institute of Management Sciences (IMS) and JK Montessorie celebrated Baisakhi festival with enthusiasm and religious fervour.
Baisakhi was celebrated at Institute of Management Sciences by the students of BBA with lot of fervor and enthusiasm.
Students attired in colorful outfits made the morning assembly colorful with their beautiful dance number followed by Punjabi songs and the best of bhangra.
Addressing the present, the chief guest Prof JR Dhotra, Director, IMS, said that the role of academic institutions included awareness and preservation of cultural heritage as well and this role had become more demanding than ever in the age of rapid globalization.
The IMS campus turned into a carnival of dance, music bonanza and competitions as “Mela Baisakhi Da” drew a heavy crowd with presentation of traditional items relating rich culture of Punjab on display.
The stage was managed by Antriksha, Auyshi, Aryaman and Ayush, whileas the entire programme was organized by Himanshu, Akash Gupta, Akash Pandita and Shailey Raina Gautam.
The students of JK Montessorie in a special assembly session organized a function to celebrate Baisakhi festival.
The programme commenced with a speech by Vice Principal of JKMS who enlightened the students with the importance of Baisakhi in a farmer’s life.
Students of the Pre-Primary and Primary wing enthralled the audience with their scintillating, colorful and entertaining items like bhangra, gidda, music, solo dance and drama highlighting the importance of the festival.
Director academics Rajni Gupta was also present.
