JAMMU, Nov 19: Governor N. N. Vohra and Usha Vohra, First Lady, felicitated Tajamul Islam in a function held at the Raj Bhavan. P K Tripathi, Principal Secretary to Governor; Gulam Mohammad, Tajamul’s father; and Faisal, Coach; G.N. Tantray, President, J&K Kick Boxing Association and Master Ehsan-ul-Navi, football player from Bandipora, were present on the occasion.
Speaking to Tajamul, who won a gold medal at the recently held World Kickboxing Championship of under-eight players in Italy, the Governor and the First Lady complimented her for her excellent performance. Tajamul, who hails from Bandipora district, participated in the World Kickboxing Championship in which ninety countries were represented.
First Lady presented a box of chocolates to Tajamul and the Governor gave her a prize of Rs. 51,000 and also assured her of all required support for furthering her passion for kickboxing.
The Governor enquired about her training schedules, studies and facilities available in the Academy being run by Faisal at Bandipora. Complimenting Faisal the Governor assured help to the Academy to boost its ongoing sports activities.
The Governor and the First Lady congratulated Tajamul’s father and her Coach and wished her continuing high success in all her future endeavours.
