JAMMU, Nov 28: Senior BJP leader and former Minister Ch Zulfkar Ali has demanded relief and accommodation for Talwara migrants at par with Kashmiri migrants.
Ali today visited Migrant Camp Talwara near Reasi and expressed his serious concern over the pathetic condition of the migrants of Rajouri, Poonch, Mahore and other parts of Jammu region, who are presently putting up at the Migrant Camp at Talwara in Reasi district.
Ch Zulfkar has submitted a memorandum to Amit Shah, Union Home Minister, Govt of India, requesting for permanent migrant colony at par with Kashmiri migrants at District Headquarters Reasi, employment for the educated youth of the Talwara migrants at par with Kashmiri migrants and relief to left out Talwara migrants.
A large number of migrants were present in the Camp and they have shown their concern over the pathetic condition of the accommodation provided by the authorities to them, Zulfkar Ali asserted.
These people had migrated from various parts of Jammu region and are residing in the Temporary Migrant Camp at Talwara. “Around 642 families are putting up here in a very pathetic condition and the accommodation provided to them is very poor, dilapidated and unsafe. The families have increased many folds since their migration from the late 90s. They have not been registered by the Relief Commissioner Jammu, so far,” he alleged.
Former Minister demanded that the Relief Commissioner should register the terror affected migrants of Talwara and they should be treated at par with the Kashmiri migrant and adequate relief be given to them. He demanded permanent residential.

He also demanded registration of the migrant families born after the migration. He demanded the intervention of Union Home Minister in this regard. He also demanded upgradation of Govt Middle School Talwara for migrants up to the level of High School as the students have been facing hardships.
