Rajouri, Mar 9: Terming implementation of NFSA in haste as credit stunt of Governor Administration, former Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department and MLA Darhal Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali has demanded to reconsider the implementation of this Act in Jammu & Kashmir by fixing minimum ration scale to the family having below 6 members.

He accused administration for paving way to hue and cry only to get credit of implementation.
Recalling former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s stand on NFSA, Zulfkar said Mufti had given him direction to make the implementation of this Act a people friendly in the State and after guidance from Mufti, he was planning to make amendments and then implement the same in the State. He said that after demise of Mufti and imposition of Governor rule, administration jumped into the race of taking credit of implementation and implemented the same without taking into consideration the issues raised by general public.
“I wrote a letter to Governor and Chief Secretary and requested them not to implement it in haste because I came to know about large scale errors in data base”, Zulfkar said, adding that Governor Administration neither considered objections of people not gave any heed towards the points raised by him which speaks itself about hurry manner in implementation of the Act.
Demanding re-consideration of implementation of NFSA, Zulfkar said J&K is having non producing state with different topography from the rest of the states if India and there is also large scale public demand of re considering it, the Act need to be reconsidered and a minimum scale of ration should be fixed to those families who are having less than 6 members in family.
Questioning the functioning of CAPD department, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali said that after hectic efforts he had streamlined this department but now for the last 2 months, it has again de tracked. He said that there was no crises of ration or sugar till December but there is large scale hue and cry over ration for the last 2 months. He expressed anguish over de tracking of this department and sought reasons from Governor administration about non supply of ration and sugar to the consumers for the last two months.
Meanwhile, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali visited Kotdhara and Kurhad areas where he laid foundation stone of Kotdhara – Sanga Sahib Ziarat road.
