RAJOURI, Nov 15: Apni Party Vice President and former Minister, Ch Zulfikar Ali has expressed serious concern over the snail pace of developmental projects in Jammu and lack of interest on widening of Jammu Poonch highway for reasons best known to the officials.
He accused the bureaucrats for misleading the Lt Governor J&K Manoj Sinha with regard to the development of remote and rural areas despite adequate funds being released by the Govt of India.
The former Minister today visited several villages of Darhal constituency including Panjnada, Darsakri, Pedi, Padodi, Soker, Panihad, Sankari, and other places where he interacted with several people in these areas.
In a press statement, Ch Zulfikar Ali said that all the developmental projects initiated in the area during the previous regimes are either being stopped or the pace of the development/project is at snail pace inspite of the fact that the Govt and the State administrative machinery is making the tall claims of huge funding and change the entire scenario of the State.
Ch Zulfikar said that the people have lot of expectation from the Govt for Jammu – Poonch four laning of the project, but unfortunately from Akhnoor to Poonch, the project was not approved as agreed for the four laning.
“Eco Tourism Park in Kandi was stopped since the fall of the previous Govt. The work on Budhal – Shopian road has not been initiated further from last three and half years. The office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner Kotranka has also not been constructed till date. The Khawas road, which was approved in CRF and further under languishing and lakhs of the people have been facing problem due to in complition of the road,” he said.
He further said that “all other roads in the interior areas are in very deplorable and worst condition and are not traffic worthy. Inspite of the programmes like Jal Jeevan Mission, many villages are still let out without the portable drinking water.”
Ch Zulfikar Ali urged upon the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to kindly intervene into the problems of these backward and border areas and redress these issues on priority.
During the tour, several prominent leaders including Apni Party District President Rajouri, Syed Manzoor Hussain Shah Bukhari; Vice President Mohammed Iqbal, Sarpanches Choudhary Mir Hussain and others accompanied the former Minister.
