AKHNOOR, Feb 5: Zila Sainik Welfare Officer, Jammu, Col (retd) JDS Kotwal, under the aegis of Brigadier RS Langeh, Director, Sainik Welfare Department, visited Pargwal area here today to attend the problems of ex-servicemen, widows, war widows and their dependents.
A large number of ex-servicemen, widows, war widows and their next of kin from far flung areas gathered there and put forward their problems before the ZSWO, who solved their problems on the spot.
The Officer informed the gathering about revised welfare schemes being extended by the Central and State Government besides latest policy and recruitment letters received from Army Headquarters and other agencies.
Financial assistance on account of gallantry awards were also distributed to the eligible ex-servicemen. Moreover, all other general enquiries of ex-servicemen and widows were clarified on the spot.
