Zero tolerance on safety of children in schools: Director Samagra Shiksha

JAMMU, Dec 20: Deep Raj Kanethia, Project Director Samagra Shiksha, Department of School Education, J&K Government, inaugurated a two- day training of Master Trainers on School Safety and Security based on School Safety & Security Guidelines 2021.
Speaking on the occasion, Project Director reiterated and emphasised on the committment of the Government on zero tolerance with regard to safety and security of the children in schools.
Detailing it further, he said that we need to create a safe environment for children from home which starts from transportation and back to home. He called upon all stakeholders to work together. In his address, he reiterated the Government stand on zero tolerance with regard to safety and security of children in schools.
The resource persons of the training were Rajiv Khajuria, Mehran Khan, Mudassir and Azhar.
The training of Master Trainers on School Safety was organised by Samagra Shiksha in collaboration with National Development Foundation (NDF), Jammu and ELFA International Srinagar, in partnership with UNICEF India. Around 45 Master trainers drawn from various districts of Jammu Division were sensitized on comporehensive school safety programme.
Rajiv Khajuria, President/CEO National Development Foundation, welcomed the participants and gave a detailed introduction of the training of school safety programmes, mainly discussing on accountability, framework and whole school safety approach.
Danish Aziz, Education Specialist Education J&K UNICEF India, in his address, elaborated the role of multistake holders involved in ensuring the safety and security of the children in schools.
Mehran Khan, CEO ELFA International, gave the programme update on the programme. Syed Fyaz, Coordinator Samagra Shiksha also discussed in detailed the components of School safety and security.
