Zahoor orders action against absentees

SRINAGAR, May 28: Minister of State for Forest, Environment, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Cooperative and Fisheries, Mir Zahoor Ahmad paid surprise visit to Sub District Hospital Pampore.
During the visit, the Minister checked the attendance of the staff and found 15 employees of different cadres absent from duty. Taking serious note of it, he passed directions to Director, Health Services Kashmir for taking strict action against the absentees under rules.
The Minister also went round various sections of the hospital including X-ray, dental, outdoor patient and general wards. He asked the management of the hospital for ensuring punctuality and maintaining roaster register of medicos and para-medicos so that the patients do not face any inconvenience. He also asked the management for maintaining cleanliness in and around the hospital premises.
Interacting with attendants and patients in hospital, the Minister said that the Government headed by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is committed to provide better healthcare to people of the State at their door steps. He said that health institutions have adequate stock of life saving drugs and the patients have to get these from hospitals free of cost. He said in this regard several initiatives have been taken by the Government during last two years.
He said that establishment of AIIMS at Awantipora is big achievement of the Government, saying that with the functioning of this prestigious hospital patients of the Valley particularly Pulwama and Anantnag districts will get proper medicare at their door steps.
The Minister also visited the Block Development Office, Pampore and took stock of its activities.
Earlier, the Minister kick started work of macdamization on 10 kms roads in Neej and Pampore areas of Pampore Constituency.
