JAMMU, Feb 13: MLA Jammu East Yudhvir Sethi raised concern in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly over the continued non-functioning of Government Degree College (GDC) Sidhra and the shifting of students to MAM College, Jammu following recent floods.
Highlighting the difficulties being faced by students, Sethi questioned the delay in making the college fully operational and sought clarity from the Government on the timeline for restoring normal academic activities at the institution.
Speaking during the session, Sethi said that the prolonged uncertainty has caused inconvenience to students, many of whom have been compelled to travel longer distances after being shifted to MAM College.
Sethi called upon the authorities to address infrastructural gaps, and ensure that students are able to continue their studies without disruption at GDC Sidhra. He demanded a detailed response regarding the reasons behind the non-functioning of GDC Sidhra and the steps being taken to restore classes at the campus.
