JAMMU, May 9: In light of the escalating tension along the border and the deliberate targeting of civilian residential areas by the Pakistan Army, senior BJP leader and MLA Jammu East, Yudhvir Sethi held a meeting to assess the ground situation, here today.
The meeting was attended by Mandal presidents of Jammu East, Adarsh Jathiar (Jammu East Mandal), Shiv Kumar Sharma (Bajalta Mandal) and Swati Sharma (Amphalla Mandal).
Expressing concern over the repeated ceasefire violations, Yudhvir Sethi called upon party workers to remain vigilant, calm and prepared to assist the people of their respective areas.
He emphasized the importance of following air raid sirens, keeping lights switched off in homes and shops during alerts and staying in touch with local administration.
“Now is the time to stand firmly with our nation and boost the morale of our people. The BJP workers must become a bridge between the administration and the distressed populace,” Sethi said.
He urged the Mandal leaders to immediately frame local committees at the ward and booth levels to monitor the situation, ensure communication and extend timely support to families affected by the shelling.
The MLA further directed the cadre to strengthen the youth wing and inspire the younger generation to remain resolute, nationalistic and service-oriented in the face of adversity.
“Our youth are the torchbearers of the nation and even amidst crisis, they must lead with discipline and dedication,” he added.
