JAMMU, June 24: To address demands of Peer Mitha residents with regard to developmental issues, senior BJP leader Yudhvir Sethi today kick started work of lanes, drains and courtyard in Ward No 3, here.
The work would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 2.50 lacs which include development and beautification of the courtyard. Under the project benches, tiles, lanes and drains would be constructed and plantation of trees would be done in the Ward.
Speaking on the occasion, Yudhvir called upon the Jammu Municipal authorities to ensure maintenance of quality standards while executing the works and directed for time line completion of the project. He said much needed green patch would be developed in the ward thus giving long space to the residents.
On the occasion, people of the ward presented their demands pertaining to sanitation, power supply and potable water.
Taking cognizance of the demands, the Leader enjoined upon the Municipal authorities to launch a special sanitation drive in the area and all the choked drains be cleaned at the earliest. The JMC sanitation in-charge assured that special drive would be launched in the area.
He called upon the PHE department to ensure that drinking water meets standards of potable water so as to avoid any health hazard to the residents of the area.
He said development of Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex, Artificial Lake on Tawi, Sanasar Golf Course, International Yoga Centre at Mantalai are some of the projects which have been fast tracked by the Government.
Others present on the occasion included Arun Sethi, Gulshan Mahajan, Kulbushan, Anil Masoom, Kaka, Surinder Mahajan and Varinder Mahajan.
