Glowing tribute paid to Dogra warrior

JAMMU, Apr 20: On the solemn occasion of Balidan Diwas, glowing tribute were paid to the revered warrior, Mian Dido Jamwal, during a programme held at Jagti, on the outskirts of Jammu.
On the occasion, senior BJP leader and MLA East constituency, Yudhvir Sethi, along with Padma Shri Mohan Singh, Zorawar Singh Jamwal (former president, Yuva Rajput Sabha), Rajan Singh Happy, Sumant Singh, Rakesh Singh, Randhir Singh, and Vijay Verma paid floral tribute at the statue erected in his honour.
Mian Dido Jamwal, renowned for his courage and selflessness, continues to command immense respect and affection from the people of Jammu and beyond, transcending barriers of caste and creed.
Speaking on the occasion, Yudhvir Sethi emphasized the paramount importance of preserving and promoting the rich Dogra culture and heritage, stating that these values epitomize the essence of love, compassion, and inclusiveness. “We are the custodians of a glorious legacy, bestowed upon us by warriors like Mian Dido, whose exemplary actions exemplify their profound love for humanity even in the face of adversity,” remarked Sethi, while paying homage to the great Dogra warrior.
He announced that the road leading to the statue will be blacktopped and a new statue of Mian Dido will be installed at the nearby Zorawar Singh Park in Jagti.
Sethi urged the people to work towards fostering unity and harmony, citing diversity as a formidable strength of the land of warriors.
Zorawar Singh Jamwal lauded the life of Mian Dido as a testament to selfless service and sacrifice, which continues to resonate with the ethos of Jammu. He highlighted Jammu’s rich history of nurturing warriors and social reformers who have played pivotal role in safeguarding the dignity and honour of the people while fostering bonds of camaraderie among different sections of society
