Jammu, Feb 21: JK Youth Sharnarthi Action Committee (YSAC) has opposed any proposal to weaken or abrogate Article 370 from the constitution of India during the ongoing process of Government formation by political parties in Jammu & Kashmir.
While addressing a meeting, president RC Sharma said that PoK refugees will oppose tooth and nail any such move till the area of the State under illegal occupation of Pakistan is retrieved with the State, which stand already resolved and unanimously passed in Parliament of India. In addition Mr Sharma urged the Government of India should retrieve the illegally occupied area of the State by China as well. He said that Article 370 should remain in vogue till the problems, demands and permanent settlement of PoK refugees is resolved once for all, otherwise the sufferings of 15 lakh PoK refugees shall remain a stigma on the State as well as Government of India.
Condemning the political parties who are playing political game with Article 370 for their political mileage, he said that such political parties should exercise restraint in such sensitive issue, which involves the emotion and future of 15 lakh PoK refugees, who are suffering badly in every aspect since October 1947.
The issue of PoK refugees is totally different from West Pakistan refugees and should be dealt with separately as the West Pakistani refugees or non-citizen of the State till date. He further said that the issue of PoK refugees should be equated with Kashmiri migrants as both cases are of the same nature. He pooh-poohed the some national leaders who are in powers at the center for linking the PoK refugees with West Pakistani for openly damaging the future of PoK refugees and warned them for dire consequences if they repeat the same in future.
Others who attended the meeting included Iqbal Singh Iqbal, Gurdev Singh, Baldev Singh, Tilak Raj Sharma and others.
