JAMMU, Mar 12: Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) have registered a case under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act against Yuva Rajput Sabha (YRS) president Dilawar Singh Manhas in Arnia area for allegedly making some “objectionable remarks” against the SHO Arnia on a social media platform.
Police said that an FIR numbered 08/2026 has been registered under Section 3 of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act in connection with the matter.
According to police sources, the case was registered after information was received that Manhas had made some objectionable utterances against SHO Arnia Dilawar Kumar on social media.
When contacted, the SHO said the FIR was lodged on the basis of information received from reliable sources regarding the remarks.
He added that further investigation into the matter has been initiated.
