SAMBA, Nov 3: Mystery shrouds the death of a youth whose body was found lying in the fields on the road side in Supwal area of district Samba this morning.
The deceased has been identified as Ranbir Singh 32, son of Jeet Singh, resident of village Chak Ram Chand near Supwal. Though the police has registered a case under Section 174 CrPC, yet the family members and locals suspect it as a case of murder.
Some people noticed the body lying in a field on the road side, at some distance away from the village in the morning. They informed the matter to family members and other villagers. A large number of people gathered there. The family told that youth did not return home last evening and they were looking for him and also contacted some relatives and his friends but could not get any clue.
The matter was reported to Samba police. The police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Samba hospital for postmortem. After completion of legal formalities, the body was handed over to the family members. The police registered a case and started inquest proceedings to investigate the cause of death.
