SAMBA, June 21: A youth died while another sustained critical injuries in a tragic road accident near Maheshwar Military area in Samba district today.
A police official said the incident occurred when two youth, both residents of Ward number 4 Samba, were heading to Diyani village to play a cricket match.
He said their motorcycle went out of control and crashed into a road divider.
Locals and police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to District Hospital Samba, where doctors declared one of them, Bhanu (22), son of Madan Kumar, dead, he said.
The other youth, Sajan (25), son of Bittu, was referred to AIIMS Vijaypur for advanced treatment, the police official said.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased was sent for post-mortem, and police have registered a case for further investigation into the matter.
