KATHUA, Apr 15: One motorcyclist died while his pillion rider was injured in a road accident after their two wheeler was hit by a speedy truck near Lugat Morh in Hatli area of Kathua district today.
The deceased has been identified as Himat Singh, 27, son of Manga Singh while the injured has been identified as Divinder Singh, son of Chaggar Singh both residents of village Dukhat Hatli in Kathua district.
As per reports the two youth were riding on a motor cycle bearing registration numberJK08K5080 which was hit by a truck bearing Registration Number JK08C4895 at Logat Morh resulting in instant death of Himat Singh while the other youth has been hospitalized in a serious condition.
The SHO Kathua, Vijay Sharma rushed to the spot soon after coming to know about the accident and shifted the both to Hospital. However Himat Singh was pronounced as brought dead by the doctors while the condition of another youth is also stated to be critical.
The police has seized the truck and motor cycle and started the investigation. However the truck driver fled from the spot after the accident. Kathua police has registered a case under section 304 IPC in this regard.
