JAMMU, Sept 17: A 20-year-old youth drowned in the Tawi River near Khel Gaon, Nagrota, today while bathing.
Police sources said the deceased has been identified as Vish Dev Singh, son of Karan Dev Singh, resident of Narain Khoo, Tehsil Nagrota, District Jammu.
They said the body was recovered from the river and shifted to the mortuary for post-mortem to ascertain the exact cause of death.
According to them, inquest proceedings under section 194 of the BNSS have been initiated at Police Station Nagrota since the body was recovered under mysterious circumstances.
Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway.
