SAMBA, June 28: A youth was drowned in a pond at Gao Brahmana today. He has been identified as Varsh, 22, S/o Babloo of Sanjay Nagar, Jammu.
According to police the youth had gone to participate in Baba Sidh Goria Mela at Swankha Morh but seeing the heavy rush of pilgrims who had to take the dip in holy Sarovar there, he left for Goa Brahmana to take a dip in the Sarovar which was some kilomteres away from Swankha Morh.
While taking the dip he drowned in the pond. His body was later fished out from the pond by the police with the help of local people and it has been kept in Ramgarh hospital for postmortem. The body will be handed over to family members tomorrow after postmortem.
The Ramgarh Police has registered a case under relevant Sections of the law.
