POONCH, July 20: A youth from Poonch city drowned while bathing at the Satharban waterfall in Sawjian area today.
Official sources identified the deceased as Akashdeep Singh, son of Gurdeep Singh. He was taking bath in the waterfall along with his brother and other local tourists when the incident occurred.
Police, led by Incharge Police Post Sawjian PSI Rajat Nanawat, reached the spot and, with the help of locals, retrieved the body. The body was shifted to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Mandi, where, according to SHO Mandi Sham Lal, it was handed over to the family after completion of legal formalities.
