RAJOURI, Apr 24: A youth was died of lightning at a village in Thanamandi area of district Rajouri this afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Sajjad Hussain, son of Muneer Hussain, resident of Pangai village in Thanamandi sub division.
A police spokesman said that incident took place at around 4.30 pm when Sajjad had gone to the nearby forest for grazing his goats and sheep. It started raining and thunder storm at the mountain near Pangai and ran towards a tree to take shelter. Then a strong beam of light from the sky hit the youth, reportedly killing him on the spot. Later, his body was shifted to Thanamandi hospital by the villagers and family members. The doctors declared him as brought dead.
