RAJOURI, July 12: A youth was killed while his associate critically injured after their bike collided with a truck near Manjakote on Jammu-Poonch Highway late this evening.
A police spokesman said that the mishap took place at around 8 pm when the truck No. JK02R/1149 was on way to Poonch from Jammu. Two youth were travelling to Rajouri from Surankote on a motor-cycle. At Deri Langiot village in Manjakote area, their bike met head on collision with the truck coming from the opposite direction.
While Basharat Qazi, son of Mushtaq Hussain, resident of Rajouri was killed on the spot, his associate Aqib, son of Abdul Rehman, resident of Rajouri town was critically injured. The police shifted him to Rajouri Hospital where doctors referred him to GMC Hospital, Jammu. The body of other youth was also removed to Rajouri Hospital for postmortem. The police seized the truck while its driver and cleaner escaped from the spot after mishap. A case was registered in this connection by police.
