POONCH, June 9: Disappointed with the Government apathy and neglect by the administration, Youth of Panchayat Rajpura collected donation from public to repair Mandi-Loran road on which hundreds of people travel on daily basis.
Mandi-Loran road comes under PMGSY wing of the PW(R&B) Department which is in dilapidated condition since long along with many other main roads of tehsil Mandi. Though the repair work was carried out on this road last year, till plera area, but no proper macadamizatiom has been done from the last many years on it which results into the intense sufferings to the commuters.
Zeeshan Ahmed, Iftikhar Ahmed, Nawaz Haq, Mohd Zeeshan, Mohd Ansar, Ikhlaq Ahmed, Bilal Ahmed, Mohd Adil and many other youth from Rajpura Panchayat said that they have collected donation and arranged a JCB machine, tractor-trolley and worked themselves as labourers to fill the potholes of this road passing through the Panchayat with soil. ” We know that it is not the permanent solution but what else can we do without this to repair road and to mark our protest as well,” they added,
“Our people are tired of raising this demand and request to J&K Government, local administration and concerned department to macadamize this road properly with quality work but nobody is understanding our problem. We are deprived of basic facilities which is failure for the Government and the administration. We once again urge authorities to minimize our sufferings,” one of the youth said.
Meanwhile, an officer concerned said that department has already submitted estimate for macadamization of the road to the higher authorities and hopefully it will be done as the tender process is going on.
