Youth attacked with sharp weapons, accused held within hours

JAMMU, July 9: A youth was brutally attacked with iron rods and sharp weapons in the Rehari area today, prompting swift action by the police who arrested the four accused within hours of the reporting of the crime.
A police official said the incident occurred around 4 PM when one Shubham Gill, son of Pawan Kumar of Dogra Hall, was returning home from court.
“He was intercepted and assaulted with iron rods and sharp-edged weapons near Rehari by a group of four men,” the police official said.
Acting on a complaint filed by his sister, Shivani, he said, Police Station Pacca Danga registered an FIR number 70/2025 under sections 115(2), 126(2), 191(2), 109 of the BNS and 4/25 of the Arms Act.
Accordingly, he said, the accused identified as Aftab Bhat of Gujjar Nagar, Rahil Gargota of Bawe Wali Gali, Dhruv Sharma of Lower Mast Garh, and Govinda of Mast Garh were arrested shortly after the case was registered.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of SDPO City North, Vikram Bhau, and led by SHO Pacca Danga, Rakesh Singh Jamwal, with PSI Shahraz Ahmed of Police Post Rehari.
