JAMMU, May 17: Janipur police arrested a youth for kidnapping and raping minor girl.
As per police sources, family members lodged a complaint with Police Station Janipur stating that their minor daughter was kidnapped and raped by a youth identified as Karan Singh, son of Bhupinder Singh, a resident of Shivalik Puram.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 73/19 under section 363, 343 and 376 RPC and 3/4 Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was registered at Janipur Police Station and investigation started.
The girl was handed over to family members after conducting medical examination.
During the course of investigation, a team from Janipur Police Station led by SHO Inspector Harmohinder Singh conducted raid in different areas and finally arrested the rapist.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
