UDHAMPUR, Apr 7: A young housewife was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Barmeen nallah at Ghordi, Chenani, here today.
The deceased was identified as Rajni Devi (32), wife of Ashok Kumar of Upper Barmeen. The body was spotted by some locals who informed the Police and family members. Police shifted the body to hospital for postmortem and registered a case in this connection for further investigation.
Meanwhile, reports from Ramnagar said that a family dispute led to violent clash between a young housewife and her mother-in-law at village Mani Kesuri. Both the women sustained injuries in the clash and have been admitted in District Hospital Udhampur for the treatment.
Their identity was established as Shakuntla Devi (36), wife of Pritam Singh and her mother in-law, Shanti Devi (75), wife of Dharm Singh. Police has registered the case.
According to another report, an Assistant Sub Inspector of J&K Armed Police, namely Janak Raj (56), son of Late Diwan Chand of R S Pura Jammu, died due to cardiac arrest at Police Training College Udhampur, where he was undergoing promotion course.
He was found lying unconscious and was shifted to hospital where doctors declared him as brought dead.
