JAMMU, Oct 13: A team of Scholars from Cluster University (CU) visited the Home for the Aged & Infirm (Vridh Ashram), Ambphalla, here today.
The team was led by Prof Jeevan Jyoti and Prof Tarsem Lal.
During the visit, the team distributed thermal warmers, socks and various grocery items for the use and comfort of the elderly residents.
The thoughtful gesture brought smiles and warmth to the hearts of the Inmates.
R C Vaid, member of the Managing Committee, warmly welcomed the visiting team and appreciated their spirit of compassion and service.
He encouraged them to make such visits more frequent to continue spreading care and joy among the elderly residents.
Dr Dinesh Gupta, Secretary of the Home, briefed the visitors about the various activities and welfare initiatives being undertaken by the institution.
He also urged the participants to become “Ambassadors of the Home” by helping to identify and refer elderly persons who are living in isolation without family support, so that they can be provided a safe and comfortable stay at the Home.
The visit concluded with an interactive session, leaving the students inspired and more aware of their social responsibilities towards the elderly community.
Among others who were present during the programme included Vijay Gupta, Sat Pal Sharma and Rajinder Singh.
