Doha, Jan 16 : The head of Yemen’s internationally recognized Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), Rashad Al?Alimi, has appointed Shaya Mohsen Zindani as prime minister and tasked him with forming a government after Salem bin Breik submitted his resignation, Yemeni media reported.
Salem bin Breik has been appointed adviser on financial and economic affairs, the Saba news agency reported on Thursday.
Last week, Yemen’s Southern Transitional Council (STC) announced the dissolution of the organization and all its structures, following a period of heightened tensions after STC forces seized the eastern provinces of Hadramawt and Al-Mahra in November 2025, triggering a firm response from the PLC and Saudi Arabia.
