JAMMU, Jan 29: Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology conducted a session on “Career opportunities in Armed Forces and How to seek jobs in Armed Forces” for the students of final and pre-final year.
The guest speaker was Brigadier Vijay Sagar Dheman along with his team members Anpurna Pandit, CEO of Achievable Blooming Careers Institute; Vishal Dogra, Marketing and Social Media Manager and Aneesh Verma, Marketing Executive. The session started with a welcome address by Rajnish Magotra, HoD Civil Engineering.
Brigadier Vijay Sagar Dheman briefed the students about the Armed Forces, which are a cornerstone of national security, providing defence and support across land, air, sea, and cyberspace domains. With a rich history of service, sacrifice, and leadership, the military offers individuals a unique chance to develop their potential and make a meaningful impact both at home and around the world, he said.
He described the Armed Forces, unparalleled opportunities for individuals to serve their country, build leadership skills, and achieve personal growth while contributing to the safety and security of the nation. As the demand for highly skilled personnel continues to grow, the military invites individuals from all backgrounds to explore the diverse career paths and benefits available across various branches, he informed.
“Whether one can be interested in technology, engineering, medicine, logistics, or leadership, the Armed Forces offer a broad spectrum of roles designed to develop talent and skills. There are positions for entry-level recruits, specialized professionals, and leadership opportunities at every stage of one’s career. The Armed Forces actively seek individuals who are motivated, disciplined, and eager to make a difference in the world,” he said and also briefed students how to seek jobs with Armed Forces.
The objective of the lecture was to enlighten the students with various benefits beyond the battlefield like professional advancement, job security, economic stability, quality of life, social status, variety and adventure etc.
Prof Mukesh Kumar Rana, Director, YCET; B R Verma, Chief Coordinator, YCET; Dinesh Gupta, Dean Academics, YCET, HoDs and faculty members of the various Departments were also present during the session. Vote of thanks was presented by Rajnish Magotra, HoD Civil Engineering.
