JAMMU, July 30: The newly elected Youth Congress Lok Sabha president from Kathua-Udhampur-Doda Parliamentary Constituency, Pankaj Basotra conducted four days tour to Kathua, Billawar and Basholi constituencies to assess the public grievances and development of the area.
At Billawar, a delegation led by Kuldeep Khajuria met Basotra and put forth their problems including non-availability of Government ration at Gura, Thanthu, Barota and Dramani panchayats, pending payments of owners of water tankers engaged in PHE department for supply of water, etc.
Another deputation from Bani Assembly Constituency also met the Lok Sabha president and demanded that the Block Development Office of Malhar be shifted from Billawar to Malhar.
The people of Basholi complained Basotra of non-implementation of the agreement made by the authority of Ranjit Sagar Dam with the thousands of oustees, according to which the authority had agreed to give job to one person from every family.
Basotra, later met Sub Div Magistrate, Billawar, DR Vikas Gupta and put up the problems of the Billawar and Bani people, which he assured to sort out very shortly. He also met District Development Commissioner, Kathua, Zahida Khan and Additional Superintendent of Police, Zahid Manhas, discussed the local issues and urged them to resolve their grievances.
