Yawer, Parmar hit fifties as J&K scores 256, Odisha 33/0

JAMMU, Dec 6: Middle-order batsman Yawer Hassan and all-rounder Dhruv Singh Parmar hit brilliant half-centuries to help Jammu and Kashmir score a decent total of 256 runs against Odisha in the first innings of the ongoing Cooch Behar Trophy match at Ravenshaw University ground-1, Cuttack in Odisha.
Earlier, Odisha won the toss and put Jammu and Kashmir into bat. Batting first, Jammu and Kashmir openers Younis Ahmed Rhythm Mahahan began sensibly and scored an opening partnership of 49 runs, before J&K lost Younis at his individual score of 22 runs. After that J&K lost 2 quick wickets in Rhythm (35) and skipper Kanhaiya Wadhawan (4). However, a big partnership of 106 runs between Yawer Hassan (84) and Dhruv Singh Parmar (50) guided Jammu and Kashmir to a respectable total of 256 runs. Kawal Preet Singh (32) and Musaif Ajaz (20) were the other contributors.
From Odisha, Ankikat Jaiswal took 4 wickets, while Rakesh Biswal claimed 3 and Surya Narayan Biswal bagged 2 wickets.
In reply, Odisha were 33/0 in their first essay at stumps on day-1 today. Aryaman Mishra (19) and Sanket Behera (14) were at the crease when the stumps were drawn today.
