JAMMU, July 16: Son of soil and 2015 batch AGMUT cadre IAS officer, Choudhary Mohammad Yasin, has been appointed as Secretary to the Government in the Union Territory of Puducherry after formally joining the duties on July 14.

As per an order issued by the UT Government, he has been assigned the important departments of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Ports, and Information Technology in the UT.
He will also serve as Secretary-cum-Commissioner of State Tax and Chief Executive Officer of Puducherry Smart City Development Limited.
Pertinently, prior to his transfer to Puducherry, Yasin has served in various capacities in Jammu and Kashmir, including as MD JKPDCL, MD NHM, CEO ABPMJAY, and DC Poonch among other administrative roles.
