JAMMU, Sept 10: A delegation of Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) met Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, Migrants, Dr.Arvind Karwani to highlight issues faced by Kashmiri migrants.
The delegation demanded hike in cash assistance saying the relief holders are facing lot of difficulties due to skyrocketing prices as no relief was enhanced for last many years.
It demanded reservation for Kashmiri Pandits in appointment and promotions so that unemployed youths of community can get jobs in all the 20 districts of J&K UT.
It said for this purpose representation/ memorandum have already been forwarded within the fixed time to the Cabinet Sub Committee authorised by the Government for reviewing of grievances of reservations. Request was made to RRC (M) to forward copy of representation to the concerned authorities for appropriate action.
It said as large number of migrants were facing difficulties in addition and deletion of names in the registration cards which needs to be looked into so that grievances are redressed.
Moreover, the deserving persons who are in need of cash relief have been shown in non relief category in the recently declared list which is injustice with them. They should be incorporated in the relief category, the delegation demanded.
The delegation also demanded compensation to all those migrant families who suffered damages and loss during recent floods and heavy rains.
The delegation also highlighted plight of left over candidates and demanded they be provided job in Valley besides sanction of 15,000 more posts for the KP youth.
The delegation was comprising of Sanjay Ganjoo, Manoj Handoo (vice presidents), Bal Krishen Bhat( general secretary), D.N.Sadhu (advisor),
Sanjay Raina (secretary press) and Executive Committee members, Kamal Tak, Ravinder Sharma, Ashwani Kak, Suresh Bhat, Ruhi Nazar,Suman Lata and Renu Raina.
